does Jack Handy write the stoners bible too?

We understand you. That’s all that matters. :)
Other than the two albums he’s released, I think anything else you’d ever want to hear or see would be on the internet. If it makes you feel better, I don’t really think you’re at a disadvantage by living in another country.
I definitely agree with everyone who’s said Matt is successful already. I guess that’s why I put mainstream in parenthesis. I really was getting at society’s view of “success”... being really well-known.
He said in one of the interviews I watched yesterday that he feels that he is successful already. I’m glad that no matter what happens, Matt already feels that he’s made it. My goodness, he is so levelheaded and likeable. haha

I know what you are feeling, his status now is “Almost” Mainstream IMHO
But the intimacy you get at his shows would be lost in a stadium or arena style Amphitheater.
His talent alone should drive him to the mainstream, I believe that artists such as Matt NEED to make it Mainstream, thus limiting the Pop crap record companies produce for Mainstream currently.

I agree 1000%. In my experience, though, the ones that do become mainstream lose the original fans. They believe that the artist has become watered down, has sold out, etc. The scene and the whole experience becomes different, and the original appeal may be lost.
Dave Matthews Band is a great example of this. The original fans were more the people in the “jamband” scene. Once he became mainstream, the crowd became mostly college/drunk/fratboy type. There are a few that stuck with him, but a vast majority of the fanbase changed dramatically.

I don’t think its a matter of the scene being different, its a matter of Original Fans wanting/expecting all fans to be of their own Mindset. IMHO, if an artist you like goes mainstream, you feel they have “sold out” or lost talent because of it, you were never a real fan to begin with.

Honest opinion.
I doubt he will really hit it ‘big’

im quite happy with his level of populatiry at the moment. ive seen him twice and both times weer memorable. The second time was later into his career and WAY better. So even if he does hit it big i believe he will be a cool enough guy to not let it get out of hand. There is a chance that he will make it big, though. i had never seen his videos or heard his music anywhere other than my computer or ipod untill a couple days ago when i saw the Mr. Pitiful music video on tv. Im sad to say hes moving up my friends. Let his popularity treat us as kind as he did when we were his only fans.

you always want the people that you like to do well and get notarity. However, you don’t want them to sell out and have their face face all over MTV. I do think, however, that i could see Matt having a nice comfortable home with VH1 and all of us still approving. Maybe he should get an Apple commerical. trendy and still indie.
i was going to say we don’t want him doing soda commericals, but er, then I realized- G.Love did one back in ‘05 and it didn’t over expose him. so Coke Zero commericals are OK.

I wouldn’t worry about MTV ... they don’t play music anymore anyway, just America’s Next Top Model marathons ... or is that VH1? I can’t tell the difference anymore. ;-)
And ha, Coke Zero ... Or he could do music for Liberty Mutual, like Hem?

of course I want it. Matt is amazing and the first of all very natural singer-songwriter. He does awsome music, so why people must listen song like ‘Umbrella’ or something like this s#!t. All the world must hear about Matt !!

Well, when he does, all the older music of his that isn’t available to buy anymore needs to be made available so that I don’t need internet connection to listen to “Shimmering Fields” and “TV Gods.”
