praise be you. i sincerely hope so. i hope it’s just him being super pedantic over things like horns/piano/etc.

if he does release this year, i think this will be my favorite year of music that i will actually be FULLY aware of.

if you watched the psychedelic rock videos from a few months past, you may have caught on that the band supporting matt in place of mitch, harris, jacob, james etc (crycrycry, really am going to miss those guys), was the band Mothers Sons.

well Mothers Sons is apparently no more.
thus, they have formed the band TODAYS.

and i actually liked Mothers Sons, so I would occasionally check their myspace, and it said they had formed TODAYS. then i went onto their twitter for TODAYS (why do i still feel like SUCH a nerd when i use “twitter” in sentences?) AND THIS IS WHAT I FOUND:

“wrapping on recording matt costa’s new album. let the touring begin…in 3 months.”

if they mean for matt, then all i have to say is FUCK YEAH.
i mean, excuse me. i’m a southern belle after all: HECK YES.

Your not alone because that is basically how I got my info as well. I’m really going to miss the guys too, but this new match up should be interesting. I wonder if it’s going to be more of a band than just Matt….or like “Matt Costa and the Todays”

About Contra, I’ve only listened to it once the full way through. I think they are a band you have to hear a few times to really appreciate. They don’t write top 40 pop songs and that is not a bad thing by any means! Have fun seeing them live. I bet it’s going to be great!

okay, actually that’s a total lie, but i’m going to delude myself into thinking it for the moment.

yeah, i am interested into seeing how this goes. i mean, no matter what, i’m going to go see matt/support him. i wasn’t thrilled with the psychedelic sound he imbued into witchcraft, but i trust his musical instincts & i’m always up for something new.

and i would agree with that about contra. i think the thing i missed on the second album is it is much less upbeat than their debut, which is not bad, but i tend to like more upbeat sounds. that’s my personal music taste.

and i actually don’t know that i’ll get to see them live again. SADDENING. but i saw them last spring when they played for free at my college, so that was VERY AWESOME. i think i appreciated their music a LOT more after seeing them live. sadly, bands tend to skip over south carolina, so i always have to travel quite a ways to go to concerts, so vampire weekend might have to get nixed from my gig schedule this year.
