Just added to No Doubt’s 2009 Tour schedule: August 11 at Neal S. Blaisdell
Arena in Honolulu, HI.
Tickets go on sale to the general public Saturday, May 9 at 9:00 AM (Hawaii)
via ticketmaster.com.
Matt Costa will open the show.
There will be a No Doubt Tour Club pre-sale on Monday, May 4 at 4:00 PM
(Hawaii), open for 48 hours. There is a four (4) ticket limit. The No
Doubt Tour Club was created to guarantee fans get the best seats in the
house, visit nodoubttourclub.musictoday.com for full details. Note: limited
number of memberships.

Sad to hear it’s Matt solo acoustic playing. I think he needs the full band opening for an energetic no doubt crowd.

A ND website posted an interview with Tom. He talks about Matt a bit. Sounds like he won’t be producing for Matt again. I wonder who will be then?

Q: What else were you up to in your time away from No Doubt?
My thought was I was going to produce records. I found this young singer-songwriter, Matt Costa, and we ended up making an album. I got him a record deal and actually went on the road with him (playing bass in Costa’s band). But I realized that record producing is long hours.
At the same time, I got married, started having kids, and I realized I don’t want to spend that much time away from home. So I did two records for Matt and I scored a documentary film (”The Providence Effect”), which is starting to play at film festivals. It’s about an incredible private school in Chicago’s poorest black neighborhood. It’s an inspiring film, and that’s something I’d like to do more of in the future.
I tried to keep myself busy doing fun things, but at the same time I always felt like I’m the guitarist of No Doubt and that’s what I really love to do and get most excited about.

and yeah, ive been curious about that, too. part of me wonders [from matt’s own testimony] whether he’s computer savvy enough to use twitter…or that he would care enough to let thousands of strangers know when he’s stumbled upon a bathroom made of glitter…which would account for his lack of tweets, i suppose.
the 88 are following him, though. not sure if thats a sign hahaha
