” you know that time will change you,
and you know that *asjlowuwkhdfashfd* will age you
but you know that i cant blame you”
its not exactly obscene, you just definantly dont want to be singing that part in front of your little kid brother or something. watch, ill have just totally heard the lines wrong and just made a complete fool of myself here.

I know what you’re hearing, but ... am I the only one who thinks that doesn’t even make sense??

hmmm but it definitely sounds like that..
what else could it be?

I don’t know! But it doesn’t make sense. I mean, really, cock? How does that even make sense? Although I should keep in mind that this line is brought to us by the same man who came up with “swallowing glass just to stay pure,” and we all remember where that discussion took us ....

Oh my god, I’m an idiot. It’s “clock.” It’s got to be. That makes total sense, especially in the context of the first line and time and all that.

haha yea that does make a lot more sense!!

i think cock makes sense when you think about it, i certainly hope its clock . . . but i definantly do not hear the l when he sings it.
im so sorry to have brought this up!

I don’t either, but I’m leaning more heavily on the fact that it makes less sense than “clock” than on the fact that I can’t hear the L. Actually, I just listened to it, and I kind of hear the L, but maybe I just want to. It was pretty funny (and kind of sad?), I was about to fall asleep last night, and then I sat up and went, “Clock!” and the cat jumped off the bed in agitation.
But this song is definitely my next goal to learn to play.

well . . . he does have SOME sort of little speech thing. anyone ever notice on mr.pitiful he says ” i dont e-shpect to admit that you were wrong”? i like it though.
i guess we’ll just have to cross our fingers that he puts this song on his next album, than we can just look at the lyrics. wouldnt it be funny if its neither of what we said?
magnolia, you play guitar?!?! we have to be buddies, i do too, and this is my next project too!

Here’s the thing about singing, guys—it makes you pronounce things in ways that you normally wouldn’t, stress vowels and consonants in weird manners in order to hold the note longer. One thing I’ve noticed he does a lot it he holds the consonant instead of the vowels, like in “Shimmering Fields,” on the second to last line, he holds the D on “Shimmering field…...” and the ends with ” ‘sofgold,” almost as one word. But speech quirk? Obviously I don’t know him that well, but ask that question again if he holds his consonants in a regular conversation.
And yeah, AC, I play. I dabble, more accurately. I’m the Ron-Burgundy-playing-the-jazz-flute of ... er ... my life. I don’t know what I’m talking about. It’s early, the grape trucks rattled by my window at 7:30, and my coffee hasn’t quite kicked in.
