Haha… I’m glad that UCI interview is online. I was pretty excited when I read it. Too bad when he was here they had him open for 36 mafia.. BIG MISTAKE. Everyone was hardcore moshing and booing Matt’s music.. it was a rather strange experience.

hoorah! i’m a favorite person ^_^
how did you know that i love alliteration!! hahaha
i think i have to agree with you on the motel vs. hotel thing. at first i thought the other way because motels are typically dirtier but, when you put it that way, realistic, it seems like where you’d find all the average joes. just people with real lives and real stories, who arent ashamed of who they are.
alliteration absolutely alters the anthem of angels.
and i have no idea what the hell that’s supposed to mean except it’s full of alliteration hahaha
and agreed on the motel/hotel thing. i just think motel seems better suited to matt’s music and personality type [i say this as if i know him so well hahaha], but i think his music is meant for everyone and not just the “elite.”
plus…can’t ignore the alliterative draw of manic motel.

well theres a whole album right there! I didn’t think ophelia was his song though…?

Ophelia is defiantly his song, he described it to me as trying to evoke Dylan, and the recording I’d heard he said his voice was a little horse so he went for the whole Dylan scratchy voice on the track. Worked masterfully

Yeah I was pretty upset. I was trying to hand him my second CD too, but the security was being really dumb. He may have gotten it, but I’m not sure. I handed him my first one at Glass House in Pomona last May. He was so nice, and we talked in the alley behind Glass House about Fionn Regan and Autumn de Wilde. I really wanted to talk to him about the book he recommended me (Dangling Man by Saul Bellow), especially since he finally came to my school. Later on facebook I saw that the cheerleaders got to talk to him.. curses! Ah well, I guess this just means I’ll have to go to another concert ;)

wait! i think i saw those videos on youtube, and he looked so incredibly depressed. and “my” concert had been the one before that, and he had seemed mr. jollymon there, so i was wondering why he was so blue. that explains a lot. poor matt.
and i think i saw that picture…was it the dance team? i giggled mercilessly at his face in that picture. there outfits were a little…skimpy? ;]

Haha yeah.. I bet they didn’t even know him! Sigh… I think a total of maybe three people like him at UCI, which doesn’t make much sense since we are so close to Huntington Beach. In the Mr. Pitiful video from the concert on youtube you can hear some of the screaming from the moshing. No one was screaming for him, they were just screaming in pain.
