I know, I love charleston-one of the greatest cities. What part of south carolina are you from?

Did you see him at the music farm earlier this year?

im originally from moncks corner, but i moved when i was 11 to an even smaller town LOL
and now i go to wofford. freshman year (Y)

and no. -sadness-
but it was my choice to not see him.
this may sound completely insane, but im a “concert virgin”...i have yet to go to a gig or concert
because i wanted my favorite band to be my epic first concert.
however, i have no moneys to travel to the UK to see them, and they haven’t done any concerts here since 2006 when i hadn’t even heard of them. and even then it was only about 2 concerts, both far away.

but now that matt’s so close, i really can’t stand it anymore. i’ve got to go see him :)

mcfly :)
and damn proud to be a fan, too.
completely underrated guys.
they’re british pop-rock.
british pop > american pop.

very beatle-esque but they’re maturing into their own now.
left their label at the end of last year…got tired of being promoted as a “boyband” when they play instruments, sing, and write their own lyrics.
they are NOT nsync/backstreet boys ARGH.

hilarious, talented, full of energy, and dare i say cute? ;)
but their live acts are apparently one of the best you can go to.
even the haters have to admit that :P

^^most recent music video. the single comes out september 14th, i believe.
they are kind of dorky in the things they like, hence the futuristic atmosphere of the music video hahaha

...and wow. when you get me talking about mcfly, i don’t shut up. SORRY! hahaha

life’s not fair. a matt concert 3 hours away on the single busiest day of my life. plus no one is willing to drive me there w/ gas prices the way they are anyway. ah well, next time i guess.

it was a different than the previous matt costa shows i’ve gone to only because this time it was only matt and mitch. it was more of an acoustic set which was really nice! the crowd was the smallest i’ve ever seen, but it wasn’t pitiful to the point that i was ashamed of atlanta. there was the atlantis music conference going on so he came and played for that on the last night at the Loft. The first opening band that opened, The Smart Brothers (http://www.myspace.com/thesmartbrothers) were AMAZING! they had so much energy and had very innovative ways of playing/making their music. like strapping bells to your ankle so you can just stomp your foot to get jingles, or using a suitcase as a drumbeat type thing.. they also used spoons and a plastic toy thing to make music. they were a ton of fun and definitely impressed the crowd! next opening band was the Bridges (http://www.myspace.com/thebridges). They are from Alabama, and they are all so beautiful and performed great. they are kind of like a female-harmonized version of matt costa, minus the quirkyness. they are like talented urban outfitters models! and the drummers face when he plays is hilarious.. now on to matt.. i actually didnt write down the setlist for this, and there actually was no set list when matt and mitch got on stage. they kind of just winged it haha. the performance was STELLAR (as always) and truly exemplified how talented and passionate matt is, which is great. despite the fact that harris and james weren’t there, people still boogied! a hell of a great performance!!!

PS- i have like 3 matt costa shirts, but they apparently had a new one (or at least one i’d never seen before) last night! it is actually made by RVCA this time instead of american apparel, and the shirt is just as soft! its like a light tan with a rooster on the front and says “A SPECTACULAR EVEN STARRING IN PERSON MATT COSTA WITH HIS BAND OF BANDITS” and a bunch of other stuff on there.. the font is in red/blue and kind of makes me think of the way bob dylan posters/shirts are formatted. its so cool!

oh, AND he was wearing a different shirt this time! he was wearing a RVCA button up. when i was chilling with him later i was like “you’re wearing a different shirt! you only have like 4 that you wear! its so funny..” and hes like “ahaha yeah.. i think this is the 4th..” so cute. such a goofy and chill guy!

what did everyone else think of the show?

I really liked the show, maybe even more than the last one at the loft.

Sounds spectacular, I saw the bridges earlier this year, but I wasn’t super impressed. They were touring with rooney and locksley opened and it felt like they sucked out all of the energy. but I think I can get off of work to see matt at furman, so I’m not as jealous
