Matt Costa in Berlin,  8th of July at Postbahnhof

Yesterday Matt Costa came back to Berlin after two years…
It was an amazing concert, it was not a really big venue and there were bout 100 people.
He played a good mix of songs from the first and the second album, and also some new ones… so hopefully it means there will be a new EP out round the next months…
I personally missed Lilacs and Heart of Stone, which he did not play, and later on talking to him he admitted having forgot them ;)
so for the next time, dont forget them :)
he was really kind after the concert waited in the freezing cold outside to satisfy all the fans wishes by doing photographs and signing…
a big big THANK YOU and come back soon!’
P.S.: If anyone was in Berlin at the concert too and has pictures please load them up.

Here’s another one from the enormous Berlin crowd! ;) I must agree in every single point, it was fricking amazing and yes i also missed some songs, esp Heart of Stone.. Too bad i had to leave so early (trains and stuff ^^) cause i knew he would come out to talk with us. But i took some pics and did some filming and here it goes: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2nN5GJ4mZW4

Maybe you recognized me, i was the one who got the handclap right before the 2nd encore ^^

Aber mal ehrlich, am Anfang dacht ich, er kippt gleich aus den Latschen. So wie er zuerst geguckt und bei den Ansagen genuschelt hat, hat er wohl kaum nur Apfelschorle in seinem Glas gehabt ;)

Hi there! One more who was yesterday in Berlin! I’m from Milan, Italy, came up there just for him… I’ll check my pictures (first line) tonight and if they are good I’ll give you a link to see them. Gorgeous atmosphere yesterday, few persons, perfect situation! I loved it!!
Anybody remember the name of the band played before Matt? They also have been really nice.

the supporting band is called “everlaunch” and actually with bass and drums a bit more rocking… thats why I first thought they would not fit into the “Matt Costa atmosphere”, but with the two guitars they did a great job.
here is their my space link: http://www.myspace.com/everlaunch

EDIT: By the way does anyone remember the setlist :P?

Man…Milan-Berlin is quite a distance, i guess the “true fan status” is yours ^^
The band was called Everlaunch (http://www.myspace.com/everlaunch and http://www.everlaunch.de/). Before going to Berlin i checked them up but didnt find em that interesting. But they did sound way better than expected because both drummer and bass guitarist were missing that day. So they really did their best out of this situation and their new (?) sound suited a Matt Costa concert much better.

EDIT: Damn, too slow..^^

I cant recall the correct order but maybe we could get it together. A few guys next to me photographed one of the setlists but it had only the full-band songs on it.
But im pretty sure it started with “Josephine” and the regular set ended with “Ballad of Miss Kate” (full band) and afterwards “Will I Lie..”

EDIT: Inbetween were Cigarette Eyes, Cold December, Astair, Sweet Rose, Vienna, Downfall, Behind the Moon, Sunshine, Yellow Taxi, Unfamiliar Faces, Sweet Thursday, Miss Magnolia, Mr Pitiful… (as I said, incorrect order)

And from the encore part i remember: Acting Like A Fool, Whiskey & Wine, The Road.

Thanks guys! So fast! Yes, Milan-Berlin is not so close and also not relaxing in 24hours! But well paid back!
I can’t help you with the setlist, really don’t remember…

He also did “I wish I was a mole in the ground”! I thought he played “Lilacs” as well, didn´t he? I might be wrong though. And there was a new song, but I can´t remember the lyrics….
There are some more videos on http://youtube.com/user/manjabe , pretty nice ones even! : )
I also had the impression that he was a bit worn out, in terms of voice. But he seemed to be in good form generally, so maybe he just didn´t warm up his voice properly.
On the other hand, I´ve never seen him perform “Astair” so beautifully…. : )
And I was so glad that he played “The Road”, it was such a treat and the perfect song to finish the show! : )

Hez guys…
I wanted to create my personal “matt costa in berlin cd” (to make my girlfriend a nice memory-gift and therefore I am still interested in the whole setlist. Thats what you told me so far:
1) Josephine
Cigarette Eyes,
Cold December,
Astair,
Sweet Rose,
Vienna,
Downfall,
Behind the Moon,
Sunshine,
Yellow Taxi,
Unfamiliar Faces,
Sweet Thursday,
Miss Magnolia,
Mr Pitiful,
I wish I was a mole in the ground,
never looking back,
Ballad of Miss Kate (last song full band)
Will I Lie..
Acting Like A Fool,
Whiskey & Wine,
Last song: The Road.

If anyone could help me with the order or additional songs that are missing I would appreciate it very much.
thank you :)
