Was an AWESOME song from the KCRW broadcast, has anyone else checked it out!
Beautifully polished for a mere week old!

I thought the same thing, I was surprised when he said only a week old, sounded like he had been playing it for months. It was awesome, and I’m glad he told us the name of it.

I loved it too.
That was a great session. I think that may be my favorite version of Mr. Pitiful so far.

He started the show with it on Wednesday ... fabulous. Amazing. He continues to blow me away with his talent. And I finally—finally—got to meet him. So completely gracious and sweet.

We must have been at the same show then! I love all his new stuff right now. When he did that song with Matt Vasquez from Delta Spirit….amazing. I was so happy to see him after the show. He is always such a nice guy and then the skateboarding, it couldn’t have been more fun.

Oh good, I’m so glad and happy for you! I was reading and I stopped in the middle and thought, “I wonder if she got to meet him yet.” Then I finished the rest of the sentence.

Ha ha, yeah I did! I talked to Mitch right after, and the whole thing was roundabout and I wound up having a beer in the back with one of the guys from Delta Spirit (keyboardist—pretty sure it’s Kelly, but I can’t seem to find a picture where those guys are named left to right, so I’m not positive), but I met him. Now I just have to meet Paul Simon, and life will pretty much be complete.

Haha, well, there is this small venue where I live and it is also an after school hang out for lots of different kids. Inside there are some old skate ramps, and they have music programs and things. After the Costa show, Jacob (Matt’s keyboard player) came out a little intoxicated with a skateboard. A few of us were talking to Matt and Jacob kept almost running into us. Matt decided to steal it from him. He hesitated, wearing dress shoes, but they soon came off and he gave everyone the pleasure of seeing him skate a bit.
As far as the new stuff I’m a bit obsessed, lol! I track down as many clips of the new stuff as I can but to hear it live is something special. That night he did Long Wait right off the bat, and towards the end he brought out Vasquez (who I found out co-wrote the song) to do Path of Destruction. Later Vasquez started goofing around on the lobby piano…It was such a great night I really could go one forever. Hope that satisfied your curiosity! :)

I don’t know where you are in the country, or if this info. will help your “life be complete”, but there is a Arts Alumni gathering (Booker T. Washington for the Performing & Visual Arts High School) thing in Dallas this weekend…Paul Simon’s wife Edie Brickell is planning to attend. It is possible Paul Simon might go as well. (?) I’m an alumni also but am not planning to go myself.

OOPS! Just checked the alumni website & they postponed it due to the building not being completed. Never mind!

Haha I’m in the Bay Area. But thanks for thinking of me! I think I’ll be OK the rest of my life if I don’t meet Paul Simon. That would probably be one of those “meeting God” moments that would result in me running away, à la Dominic Monaghan when he was given the chance to meet Paul McCartney.
