it saddens me that people dont like this kind of music, i know alot of people that dont like Matt or the style of music, they’re all into the emo and sceamo crap that hates life…
I dont know what album i like more, they both got some of my favorite songs, but its tough to compete with ‘Astair’ from Songs We Sing, so for the purpose of this topic, i will say Songs We Sing because it has Astair on it

Although i like both albums, id have to go for songs we sing. Whiskey and wine, Astair, Wash away and Cold December are all very hard songs to better.

I refuse to define myself in those limited terms, though I will say that I feel like “Unfamiliar Faces” is a tighter, more cohesive album. I feel like it tells more of a story. On the other hand, part of what I love about “Songs We Sing” is its vignette-ish approach to music.

Honestly…I have just discovered Matt Costa and bought unfamiliar Faces…and it is by far the best CD I have heard in along time….I love Miss Magnolia…I love them all. I found Matt Costa by listening to the Jack Johnson Let it be sung..loved the guys voice in it and did a little research to find out who he was, and it happened to be Matt Costa…. so long story short,I am a fan and promoting Matt all around my College…we listened to him in the library yesterday.. PEOPLE LOVE IT!!!!! By the way from Ontario Canada!!!!

same here, SWS is so great and the bar was set so high so I think I was comparing UF to it and that’s why I didn’t love it at first

He only has two releases, is it not pre-mature to nail down your favorite?
If you aren’t limiting it to Matt, I’d have to say George Harrison’s “All Things Must Pass” or Donovan’s “A gift from a flower to a garden”

its so tough to choose!!
i thought it was going to be impossible for him to beat the amazingness that is songs we sing (yes, amazingness haha). but unfamiliar faces is soooooo good-it blew me away. there are no words to describe how great matts music is. i bought unfamiliar faces the day it came out and did not stop listening to it til about mid march-so thats like a month and a half of it in my car, on my computer, ipod, bose player, etc. i just couldnt stop listening to it. having said that, i might be leaning just a tiny bit more towards songs we sing because it has some of my favorites (wash away, cold december, astair, sunshine) buut unfamiliar faces is fantastic!! the two albums are alot different and unfamiliar faces has really shown how matt has grown.
so i guess what im saying is that songs we sing is my favorite but it only wins by a fraction. i cant wait to see what matt does with his next album!!
